Collet Maintenance

If the collet or spindle is dirty, it may not grip the milling bur correctly, which may affect the milling quality. Perform collet maintenance on a regular basis.

Recommended Interval for This Work

  • Once a month, or when the total work time of the spindle exceeds 200 hours (with slight variation depending on the work situation).

IMPORTANT

Do not loosen the collet with the torque screwdriver with the sleeve () attached.

Doing so may damage the sleeve. Remove the sleeve from the torque screwdriver before loosening the collet.

IMPORTANT

The collet must be tightened at the specified tightening torque. Before tightening the collet with the torque screwdriver, be sure to attach a sleeve. Check the marking on the sleeve () and use a sleeve that matches the tightening torque value.

Failure to attach a sleeve will cause a torque in excess of the permitted amount to be applied, which may damage parts and materials.
