Cutting after Removing the Printed Media

This section explains how to remove and process media after printing and how to cut the media after processing.

Alignment of printing and cutting can be done in this way if the media needs to be removed before cutting, for example, when printing and cutting are to be done on different equipment without processing the media after printing.

Printing with Crop Marks

Procedure
  1. Correctly load in the machine the media or the object and prepare to print.

    For details on how to load media or the various adjustments made before printing, refer to the documentation for the machine you are using.

  2. Click tb_standard_send-to-device.

    The Send to Device dialog box appears.

  3. Select the machine where the data will be sent.

    If the machine you are using is not displayed, it has not been set in VersaWorks.

    For details on how to set the machine to output to, see the "VersaWorks Installation Guide."

  4. In Output, select either Page or Objects.
    MEMO

    Select Page to output at the Standard Page Sizes designated with Design Central. Select Objects to output at the size of the object.

    You can check the Output of Page and Objects with Preview.

  5. Click Print Parameters to configure the output settings.
    Configure the following settings with Cutting Options on the Cut Controls tab.
    • Operation Mode: Print Only
    • Select the Crop mark (Printing) check box.

    The Quality, Cut Controls, and Others tabs are located in Print Parameters. These tabs set operations during printing and cutting. For more information, refer to Print Parameters.

  6. Click OK.
    The Print Parameters window closes.
  7. Click Send.

    After processing by the RIP, the data is sent and then printing starts.

    You can check the progress of the printing in the display on the machine, in Utility, or by other means.

    For details, refer to the user's manual for the model that you are using.

Removing and Processing the Media

Procedure
  1. Remove the media from the machine.

    For details on how to remove media, refer to the documentation for the machine you are using.

  2. If necessary, laminate or otherwise process the media.

    If the media is not intended to be processed, but has been removed for cutting on another piece of equipment, such as a cutting machine, it does not need to be processed.

Loading and Cutting Media after Processing

Procedure
  1. Correctly load the media or object in the machine, and then set the appropriate cutting conditions for the target media or object.

    For details on how to load media or the various adjustments made before printing, refer to the documentation for the machine you are using.

  2. Click tb_standard_send-to-device.

    The Send to Device dialog box appears.

  3. Select the machine where the data will be sent.

    If the machine you are using is not displayed, it has not been set in VersaWorks.
