Adjusting Print Head Height to Match Media Thickness
This section explains how to adjust the print head height to match the media thickness.
The height of the print head is set with
. Changing this height may affect the printing quality. Normally do not change this setting.However when printing on thick media and when swelling occurred due to drying after printing, the distance between the print heads and the print surface will be smaller than the intended value. Depending on the circumstances, the print head may contact the media. In order to avoid this, change the height of the print head. If the print head height on the printer and the setting are different, a message may be displayed on the printer. In this situation, make the settings the same.
Depending on the model you are using, this setting may be disabled.

Perform the operation shown below according to what is being set.
- Job
- Double-click the job to set.
- Right-click on the job to set, then click .
- With a job selected, click
on the left side of the job tool area, and then click
Job Settings .
The Job Settings window appears.
- Queue folder: Click
for the queue folder.
The Queue Properties appears.
- Job

Click
Printer Controls.
- Select Use Custom Settings for Other Controls.
- Set the Head Height.

Click OK.
- Any changes made in Job Settings will be applied, and you will be returned to the main window.
- When changes are made in Queue Properties:
- When a message for saving the printing settings appears, click OK.

To apply the changes to a job already in the queue folder, right-click on the job and click
. The changes are reflected in the layout area of the main window.
- Set the head height to the same setting on the printer side.
