Transitioning Data from VersaWorks 6 to VersaWorks 7

Procedure
VersaWorks 6 Operation
  1. Use the latest version of VersaWorks 6.
    For details, see the VersaWorks 6 Help.
  2. In an arbitrary location, create a folder where the backup data should be stored.
    Make sure the folder is empty.
  3. Exit VersaWorks 6.
  4. Start the VersaWorks 6 Initialize tool.
    • Windows 11 (version: 24H2)

      Click Start - All orAll apps, and then clickVersaWorks - Initialize.

    • Windows 10 (version: 22H2)

      Click Start, and then click VersaWorks - Initialize.

    The VersaInit window appears.
  5. Click Back Up.
  6. Click [...], specify the folder created in Step 1, and then click Back Up.
  7. Click Yes.
    The backup data will be saved in the specified folder.
  8. When a completion message appears, click OK.
  9. Click Close.
    The VersaInit window closes.
VersaWorks 7 Operation
  1. Exit VersaWorks 7 if it is running.
  2. Start VW7 Data Management in VersaWorks 7.
    • Windows 11 (version: 24H2)

      Click Start - All orAll apps, and then clickVersaWorks - VW7 Data Management.

    • Windows 10 (version: 22H2)

      Click Start, and then click VersaWorks 7 - VW7 Data Management.

    The VW7 Data Management window appears.
  3. Click Restore.
  4. Click [...], and then specify the folder in which the VersaWorks 6 backup data was saved.
    When you specify the folder, you are returned to the VersaInit window.
  5. Click Restore.
  6. In the restore confirmation window, click Yes.
    The VersaWorks 6 backup data will be loaded.
  7. When a completion message appears, click OK.
  8. Click Close.
    The VW7 Data Management window closes.
  9. Start VersaWorks 7 to make sure that the data has transitioned.
