Step 1: Select the Spot Color

Before creating print data with illustration software, check the color chart that was printed from the DIC or PANTONE color sample book or the VersaWorks spot color library, and select the spot color to use. Or, you can select the spot color by the following procedure.

Procedure

Click Edit - Spot Color Settings on the menu bar.
The Spot Color Settings window appears.
Select the Spot Color Management from the Library List.
Check Color Type and confirm that the correct Spot Color Management is selected.
- Lab: Can be used with all models.
- CMYK*: Cannot be used when an unsupported color (ink) is included.
MEMO
- With a spot color library where Attribute is Preset, the contents can only be checked.
- With a User Defined spot color library, the contents can be edited.Replicating and Editing a Spot Color Library
From the list of spot colors in the spot color library selected on the right side of the screen, make a note of the Spot Color Name that is used.
Click OK to close the Spot Color Settings window.
