This example uses flat, A4-size material.

If using roll material or other material, refer to "Using a Variety of Materials" and load the material.

Procedure

  1. Lower the loading lever.


    Do not use excessive force when moving the loading lever.

    Doing so may damage it.

  2. Load the material so that its leading edge is positioned over the guide lines.

    With the short edge of the material toward the front, pass the material through the front of the machine.


  3. Set the material in the position shown in the figure below.

    The position differs according to the size of the material to be loaded.

     

  4. Move the pinch rollers to the edges of the material so that each one is within the grit marks.

    The pinch rollers must not extend beyond the grit marks

  5. Align the left edge of the material so that it lies approximately parallel to the guide lines.

  1. Raise the loading lever.

    The material is secured in place.

  2. If the condition of the material is as described below, then stretch or flatten it before use.

    The material is curled upward.
    The leading edge of the material is bent or creased.
