Spot Color Usage Examples
Even if the color to be printed has not yet been decided, first create the print data with the spot color names.
Using print data with the spot color names makes it possible to specify different colors for the spot colors in VersaWorks without modifying the print data.
By duplicating a job in the VersaWorks job list, spot color values can be set with Job Settings, or the spot color values can be set without duplicating the job by creating a spot color library and following the instructions under Switching the Spot Color Library to Use.
IMPORTANT Points to note regarding spot color names
- The spot color name “S” will be replaced by RDG_STRUCTURAL.
- To stop replacement, click VersaWorks Default Alias in the Library List. , and turn off
- When replacement is stopped, printing will be performed using the color value specified in the design software.
- When using Dimensor S print data in VersaWorks, make sure VersaWorks Default Alias is turned on.
- On models with Or, Gr, and Re inks, spot color names such as “Orange,” “Green,” and “Red” (with the first letter capitalized) will not be recognized as spot colors.
They will not be displayed in the Color Name field under Spot Color Settings in Color$Replacement. Colors with names such as “orange” or “GREEN” will be recognized.
- Use single-byte alphanumeric characters for spot color names. Print data with spot color names using two-byte characters or some symbols may not be displayed correctly in the Color Name field under Spot Color Settings in Color$Replacement.
