Step 1: Print the Spot Color Chart
Procedure
- Select the job to set.

Use one of the methods below to open the Nearest Color Finder window.
- Right-click the selected job, and then click .
- Click
on the left side of the job tool area, and then click
Nearest Color Finder.
The spot colors included in the job are displayed on the Start Nearest Color Finder window. -
Select the spot color to adjust.
Up to 10 colors can be selected.MEMO Click Change Print Quality to change the Quality item of the job. After changing, click OK to return to the previous window.

Click Start.
The Nearest Color Finder window appears. When multiple spot colors are selected, the nearest color is set for each spot color.

Select one of the following for the color being adjusted.
- Leave Specify Color to Match unchecked and proceed to Step 7 if you do not want to specify a color to adjust.
- Proceed to the next operation if you want to specify a color to adjust.
- Select the Specify Color to Match checkbox.
- Select the method for specifying the color.
- Measure: Specify using a measurement instrument or by inputting the Lab value.
- Library: Specify a spot color in a separate spot color library registered in VersaWorks.
- Ink: Specify the color value.

Specify the Chart Format.
- Align for Visualization: Prints a chart with the swatches optimally arranged for visual comparison.
- Align for Measurement: Prints a chart that can be measured by a measurement instrument for color charts.

Specify the Print Chart.
- If Align for Visualization was selected, select Swatch Amount from the following.
- Few: 3 swatches × 3 swatches × 3 pages = 27 swatches
- Standard: 5 swatches × 5 swatches × 5 pages = 125 swatches
- Many: 7 swatches × 7 swatches × 5 pages = 245 swatches
MEMO When Align for Measurement is selected, Standard will be selected. - Select Swatch Interval from the following.
- Small
- Standard
- Large
MEMO Swatch Interval is the color difference from the neighboring patch. Selecting Small makes the color difference smaller. Selecting Large makes the color difference larger.
- If Align for Visualization was selected, select Swatch Amount from the following.

Under Print Chart, click Print.
Click OK in the chart printing confirmation window to print the numbered nearest colors chart. When printing is finished, a chart matching the nearest colors chart that was printed is displayed on the Nearest Color Finder window.
- If multiple spot colors are selected, switch tabs and perform Steps 5 to 8 again to print charts for all of the selected spot colors.
