Creating a Spot Color Library
Procedure

Click
on the menu bar.The Spot Color Settings window appears.

Click
.
The Create Spot Color Library window appears. -
Enter the desired name in Spot Color Management.
MEMO The set library name cannot afterwards be changed.

Select Color Type.
- Lab
- CMYK
- Alias of Special Inks
MEMO- When using a measurement instrument, be sure to set Color Type to Lab.
- Color Type cannot afterwards be changed.

Click OK.
A new spot color library is created.

Select the newly created spot color library name and click
.
The new spot color is added to Spot Color Name. -
Select a spot color that was added, and then enter the Color Name.
IMPORTANT Be sure that the spot color name entered here and the spot color name in the illustration software are the same. If the names do not match, VersaWorks will not recognize them as spot colors. Names of spot colors are case-sensitive, so make sure the name is typed correctly.

Specify a spot color for each Color Type.
- Lab
- When measuring to decide the Lab value, refer to Setting the Measurement Instrument to Use and prepare the measurement instrument.
- Click Calibrate. The measurement instrument is calibrated.
- Click Measure. When the Start Measurement window appears, use the measurement instrument to perform the measurement. The Lab value is displayed when the measurement is finished.
- When the Lab value is decided, select Define Output Values and enter the Lab value.
- When specifying a spot color that is defined by the Lab value, such as DIC or PANTONE, select Assign Another Spot Color and click Select to specify the spot color.
- When measuring to decide the Lab value, refer to Setting the Measurement Instrument to Use and prepare the measurement instrument.
- CMYK
- When the CMYK value is decided, select Define Output Values and enter the CMYK value.
- When specifying a spot color that is defined by the CMYK value, such as Roland Color System Library, select Assign Another Spot Color and click Select to specify the spot color.
- Alias of Special InksWhen converting to a white, gloss, primer, or metallic silver spot color, specify the spot color from Special Ink.
- White: RDG_WHITE
- Gloss: RDG_GLOSS
- Primer: RDG_PRIMER
- Metallic silver: RDG_MetallicSilver
- Lab

Click OK to close the Spot Color Settings window.
The changed settings are saved.IMPORTANT Be sure to click OK. If you click Cancel, a confirmation window appears to confirm that you want to discard the changes. If you click Yes in this confirmation window, the window is closed and no changes made to the settings or newly registered spot colors are saved.
