Assigning a Color from Another Spot Color Library to a Newly Created Spot Color Library

You can create spot colors in newly created libraries and assign colors in existing spot color libraries. The procedure for replacing the color of a named spot color is the same as Replacing or Fine-tuning the Output Color of a Spot Color, but if you configure the settings in this section, they will be applied to all print data added in the future.

Procedure
  1. Click Edit - Spot Color Settings on the menu bar.
    The Spot Color Settings window appears.
  2. Click .
    IMPORTANT The converted spot colors are not applied to the preview area in Job Settings and the main screen.
    The Create Spot Color Library window appears.
  3. Enter the desired name in Spot Color Management.
  4. Select Color Type.
    The spot colors that can be assigned are determined by the color space selected here.
    • Lab

      You can assign them to colors of libraries where the color type is Lab, such as DIC or PANTONE.

    • CMYK

      You can assign them to colors of libraries where the color type is CMYK, such as Roland Color System Library.

    • Alias of Special Inks

      You can assign them to RDG_WHITE, RDG_Gloss, RDG_MetallicSilver, or RDG_PRIMER.

  5. Click OK.
    A new spot color library is created.
  6. Select the newly created spot color library name and click .
    The list is added to Spot Color Name.
  7. Select a spot color that was added, and then enter the Color Name.
  8. Select Assign Another Spot Color.
  9. Click Select.
    The Select Spot Color window appears.
  10. Select Spot Color Management.
  11. Select the spot color name to be assigned, and then click OK.
  12. Click OK.
    The Spot Color Settings window closes and the settings are saved.
