3. Improving Ink Adhesion on Materials Where Ink Comes Off Easily (Primer Printing)

MEMO

This guide provides the procedure for machines equipped with primer.

When performing UV printing on materials resistant to the adhesion of UV ink, apply primer to act as a colorless and transparent base treatment and adhesive agent. This section describes the procedure for printing using primer.

Materials where primer usage is recommended

  • Glass
  • Enamel
  • Cast plate (cast acrylic)
  • Tile
  • Metal (stainless steel, aluminum) * Primer has no effect when used on copper or brass.

The primer may not be fully efficient on some materials.

IMPORTANT To avoid nozzle clogging due to ink hardening close to the print head surface, do not use primer on mirror surfaces and other such items that easily reflect light from a UV lamp.
MEMO
  • Degreasing the printed surface before printing is effective to improve ink adhesion.
  • To prevent the ink adhesion from being affected by oil, sweat, etc. on your hands, do not touch the printed surface with bare hands.
