Step 2: Configure the Printing Settings in VersaWorks

Follow the procedure below to configure the settings for printing with gloss ink for glossy and matte finishes. In this section, printing settings are configured for each job, resulting in settings with higher priority than those on the entire queue folder.

Before starting work, check that printer setup is complete.

Procedure
  1. Double-click "Rainbow_CMYKMatte.pdf."
    The Job Settings window appears.
  2. Click Get Media Width.
    The print area set on the printer is read.

  3. Click .
  4. Select the following items in the Quality Settings window.
    Setting item Selection Supplementary information
    Media Type General General or Generic Distance*1
    Mode CMYK->MatteVarnish(v) CMYK->MatteVarnish(v) or CMYK->MatteVarnish(v)16p*2
    *1 This setting is suitable when you print on media whose printed surface is uneven.
    *2 16p indicates the level of printing detail with higher numbers resulting in more detailed drawing but longer printing time. Compared to the other setting, drawing is more detailed with 16p.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Double-click "Rainbow_Gloss.pdf."
  7. Repeat step 2 to set the print area.
  8. Click .
  9. Select the following items in the Quality Settings window.
    Setting item Selection
    Media Type Special Effects
    Mode GlossVarnish(v)
  10. Click OK.
