Determining the Maximum Value (Threshold) for Automatic Height Adjustment

This section explains how to set the maximum value (the threshold) to use when automatically adjusting the height of the table during printing.

If an abnormal media height is detected during printing, the table is automatically lowered to avoid a collision between the print heads and the object, and then the media height is detected again. This operation is automatically repeated until no abnormal media height is detected, and printing continues when the media height is determined to be normal.

When the table lowering amount reaches the maximum value (threshold) for automatic height adjustment, printing is canceled.

This setting is only enabled when Readjust is selected in Clearance Settings.

Procedure
  1. Tap AP-640_Panel_Icon_MENU.
  2. Tap Preferences - Clearance Settings.
  3. Tap AP-640_Panel_Icon_MINUS and AP-640_Panel_Icon_PLUS to set the Threshold.

    MEMO

    Default setting: 10.0 mm

    IMPORTANT
The greater the distance between the print surface and the print head, the greater the trend for the printing image quality to drop. Therefore, it is beneficial to minimize the adjustment width. Keep the following points in mind when determining the setting value.
    • Consider the effect on the printing image quality in order to obtain satisfactory image quality.
    • The variation in height across the entire print surface (not the print target area but including parts that will not be printed)
