Strategy Editor

This page explains how to use the DGSHAPE CAM strategy editor solution, which allows for easy management and control of cutting strategies.

Interface

The interface is separated into eight main sections (excluding buttons).

1 - Machine list

Displays a list of the cutting burs installed in DGSHAPE CAM.

It may appear that duplicate cutting burs are displayed, but each one has different cutting bur sets and fixtures that can be used by CAM. The cutting bur to use is displayed at the front of the name. The part in parentheses displays the name of the cutting and milling machine that can be used.

2 - Material list

Displays the materials that can be used with the cutting bur (cutting and milling machine) selected with the machine list (1).

MEMO

Only the material selected here is updated in the event of changes.

3 - Object type filter

This filter is used to select from the types of dental prostheses functioning effectively within DGSHAPE CAM.

You can use this filter to select the type of dental prosthesis that changes the strategy related to the items selected with the machine list (1) and material list (2).　

Click an icon to select a different type of dental prosthesis.

MEMO

The dental prostheses that can be selected here are types that are updated such that changes are applied.

4 - Strategy filter

This window displays all the strategies for the selected object type (3). This window does not function due to limitations imposed by DGSHAPE CAM.

Warning messages displayed in groups indicate errors, such as that shown below, during milling within the group.

5 - Summary

This window displays a summary of the effective strategy for the selected machine (1), material (2), and object type (3). This window does not function due to limitations imposed by DGSHAPE CAM.

6 - New, unedited parameters

This window displays the strategies that have not been set. This window does not function due to limitations imposed by DGSHAPE CAM.

7 - Strategy information

Displays information related to strategies and settings.

A - Information related to the strategy being used (Strategy_X_default.CFG). This part is also a button. Click this button to open the folder containing the strategy and settings.

B - Version information for the installed strategy

C - Information related to the last change applied to this strategy setting

8 - Object type and strategy options

This window displays the options/milling related to the group of the selected object type filter (3) and strategy filter (5).

Check this window to correct problems (when the strategy filter has a warning or exclamation mark) that arise.

Buttons

To apply changes in the strategy editor, you have to understand the function of each button.

Update

Use this button to update/reload the information displayed in the strategy editor.

Option preview

Use this button to display in the preview the strategy options that can be used with the selected dental prosthesis type and material.
