4. Fill the machine with ink.

IMPORTANT Be sure to use new cleaning liquid cartridges and ink cartridges.
Procedure
  1. When the Install cleaning liquid cartridges in all the slots. screen appears, insert cleaning liquid cartridges in all the slots.
    When all the cartridges are inserted correctly, the Head cleaning in progress. Please wait. screen appears. The details of the operation in progress and the (approximate) remaining time of that work are displayed in the status bar at the top of the screen.
  2. When the Remove all the cartridges. screen appears, remove all the cartridges.
    When all the cartridges are removed, the Head cleaning in progress. Please wait. screen appears.
    Repeat Steps 1 and 2 several times, then follow the instructions on the screen and proceed to the next step.
  3. When the Install cleaning liquid cartridge in slot No. *. screen appears, insert a cleaning liquid cartridge in the specified number slot.

    * displays a different slot number depending on the selected ink type.

    When all the cartridges are inserted correctly, the Head cleaning in progress. Please wait. screen appears.

  4. When the Remove all the cartridges. screen appears, remove all the cartridges.
    When all the cartridges are removed, the Head cleaning in progress. Please wait. screen appears.
  5. When the Discard the discharged fluid in the bottle. screen appears, carry out the following procedure.
    1. Remove the drain bottle and discard the discharged fluid.

      CAUTION

      Before you detach the drain bottle, be sure to wait for the screen to display Discard the discharged fluid in the bottle.. After discarding the discharged fluid, promptly attach the drain bottle to the machine.

      Failing to follow this procedure may cause discharged fluid to flow out of the tube and spill, soiling your hands or the floor.

      IMPORTANT

      When you remove the drain bottle, a few drops of discharged fluid may come out of the machine. Exercise caution to prevent this fluid from soiling your hands or the floor.

    2. Quickly attach the emptied drain bottle to the machine once more.
    3. Tap OK when the When output, cleaning, and other operations are completed, discard the screen appears.
    4. Tap Finish.
  6. When the Install all the ink cartridges. screen appears, insert ink cartridges in all the slots.
    Before inserting ink cartridges, be sure to gently shake each of them.

    The precipitation of the ingredients in the ink disables printing in normal color. Shake the ink cartridges so that the ink mixes well.

    IMPORTANT

    Ink labels indicating colors are affixed to the machine. Insert each ink cartridge into the slot whose label matches the color of the ink in the cartridge.

    Inserting an incorrect cartridge may lead to breakdowns. Be careful not to insert the wrong cartridges.

    If you insert an incorrect cartridge by mistake, contact your authorized dealer.

  7. When the manual cleaning screen appears, perform manual cleaning again.

    Perform the work under 3. Perform manual cleaning. again.

  8. Wait for ink filling to finish.
    When the home screen appears, ink filling is finished.
