Setting the Height of the Object to Be Printed On Manually

This section explains how to manually set the height of the object to be printed on. This is suited to the case when you do not want the head gap sensor to come in contact with the object to be printed on and the case when you want to set the distance between the heads and the object to be printed on.

The manual setting takes a little longer than the automatic setting because you need to visually set the height.

If the print surface is uneven, there is a limit to the area of unevenness.

With the LEF2-300D, height detection is not possible if the spacer table is not used and an object to be printed on with a thickness of 100 mm (3.94 in.) or less is loaded. For objects to be printed on with a thickness of 100 mm (3.94 in.) or less, use the spacer table.

IMPORTANT:

Be sure to hold the handle of the front cover and open and close it gently.

Procedure
  1. Secure the object to be printed on in place on the flat table.
  2. Close the front cover.
  3. Check that the following screen is displayed.

If this screen is not displayed, check that nothing has been placed on top of the flat table, and then hold down [SETUP] for 1 second or more.

The flat table will come forward into a position in which the object to be printed on can be set up.

  4. Press [SETUP].
    [SETUP] starts to flash.
  5. Open the front cover.
  6. Press [▲], [▼], [UP] or [DOWN] to move the flat table, bringing the head gap sensor as close to the print surface as possible.

    IMPORTANT:
    • Set the height of the table in a way that the highest position of the print surface will not come into contact with the head gap sensor.
    • Note that print quality will deteriorate as the distance between the head gap sensor and print surface widens.

    MEMO:
When the screen shown below appears

Pressing [ENTER] on this screen starts automatic height detection. During automatic detection, the head gap sensor comes into contact with the object to be printed on. If you do not want to perform automatic detection, press [◀] to return to the original screen.

  7. Close the front cover when it is open.
  8. When the location is set, press [ENTER].
