Using Spot Colors
This section explains the output method that uses spot colors.
- Spot colors are special colors other than the process colors (CMYK). DIC and PANTONE colors are famous for being printed with special mixtures of ink. Use these colors to prevent printer-based variations in color such as when printing colors associated with a given company. VersaWorks converts the spot colors explained above to process colors for printing.
- Green, red, orange, metallic, and gloss (texture and brio-coat) are registered in "spot color libraries" in VersaWorks. You can also create new spot color libraries.
- When using the spot colors registered in the spot color library of VersaWorks in an application, the spot colors can be converted to the closest matching process color for printing. However, VersaWorks can only recognize spot colors in vector data. Colors used in raster data such as bitmap images cannot be recognized.
- You can set spot colors for white ink, gloss ink, primer, and metallic silver ink in the color palette of your application and use these colors to print. Set spot colors are displayed as special items in the preview area.
