Step 2: Saving the Target Printer Data

On the printer that you want to match colors with, create a color chart with the same settings as the reference color data, and then use a measurement instrument to save the target colors as the Target Printer Data.

Procedure
  1. Connect the measurement instrument to the computer, and then set up the measurement instrument.
  2. Click Edit - Printer Color Match Settings on the menu bar.
    The Printer Color Match Settings window appears.
  3. Click the Print Chart tab.
  4. Select Target Printer Data for Printer Data Type.
  5. Click Printing Condition Settings.
    Configure the same setting as Reference Printer Data.
  6. Click OK.
    The Printing Condition Settings window closes.
  7. Click Print.

    The Print Chart for Printer Color Matching window appears.

  8. Specify the location to add the job (Queue A to E), and click OK.
    When the message "Job has been sent successfully. appears," click OK. The color chart is printed.
  9. Click the Measure Chart tab.
  10. Prepare to calibrate the measurement instrument, then click Calibrate.

    The calibration of the measurement instrument starts.

  11. Click Measure.

    Use a measurement instrument to measure the color chart.

  12. When the measurement is finished, click Register.

    The Register Target Printer Data window appears.

  13. Enter the desired name in Target Printer Data Name.

    The Register Target Printer Data window closes.

    If you want to record the Media Name for Chart Printing, enter it.

  14. Click OK.
  15. Click OK in the Printer Color Match Settings window.

    The Printer Color Match Settings window closes.

    This completes the procedure for saving the reference color data as the Target Printer Data. Saved Target Printer Data is listed on the Target Printer Data tab in the Printer Color Match Settings window.
