Matching Different Printer Output Colors
It is possible to match the output colors of printers that are different models. It is also possible when the model is the same but the ink type is different. To match the colors on different machines with the same model and same ink type, perform Obtaining a Stable Output Color.
- Creating a simulation profile
Create a test chart using the profile creation software, and output it from the printer to use as the color match source. Then measure the test chart and create the simulation profile.
- Creating and installing the output ICC profile
- Use VW and create the media at the printer where color matching will be performed. For details, refer to "Step 1: Create New Media" in Registering New Media.
- Create a test chart using the profile creation software, and output it from the printer where color matching will be performed. Then measure the test chart and create the output ICC profile.
- Configure the settings for the output ICC profile that was created on the media which was created in Step 1. For details, refer to "Step 4: Register a Profile" in Registering New Media.
- Installing a simulation profile
Install the simulation profile that was created in Step 1 in VW. Refer to Adding Simulation Target Profiles for details.
- Profile application and printing
Configures the profile settings on the printer where color matching will be performed, and perform printing. Refer to Selecting the Printer Profiles for details.
