About Special Colors
Special colors are special colors that are used in VersaWorks and are different from the spot colors that are widely used in the printing industry. While spot colors are recognized based on the color name (such as RVW-BK01A or PANTONE Yellow 012C), special colors are recognized based on the color value (such as C: 10, M: 20, Y: 30, K: 0, L: 50, a: 60, and b: 70). VersaWorks detects the specific colors in a job by color value (RGB or CMYK) and replaces them with color values defined in VersaWorks (CMYK or Lab).
IMPORTANT When a special color is set, it will be applied to all subsequently added print data. For this reason, there is the possibility of unintended color replacement.
MEMO VersaWorks can only recognize special colors in vector data. Colors used in raster data such as bitmap images cannot be recognized.
