Fine-tuning the Output Color of a Special Color

When the color that is actually output is slightly different than the color that was measured, fine-tune the output color of the special color.
Procedure
  1. In the job list, double-click the job.
    The Job Settings window appears.
  2. Click .
  3. Click Details under Special Color Settings.
    The Special Color List appears.

    You can check the following information:

    Input ColorRGB or CMYK values of the defined special color
    Spot Color ManagementName of the library that the special color is registered in
    Library Output

    Color values defined in the library

    MEMO If the output color is a special color defined in the Lab color space, a caution mark () is displayed when the output color cannot be reproduced (it is out of the gamut) with the selected media and quality.
    Delta EColor difference values from the reproducible range of colors*1
    Printer Output

    Process color values to which the special color has been converted

    MEMO If the output color is a special color defined in the Lab color space, the values converted with the method displayed in the Matching Method field on the right are displayed.

  4. Use Edit Output Color to change the output color.
    • Specifying the CMYK value directly

      Change the CMYK value.

    • Changing Matching Method

      Right-click the Matching Method field of the color to be adjusted, and then select the matching method. However, this change is only available when the spot color is one defined in the Lab color space.

    • Use Spot Color Library

      Select the check box, then click Select and specify the color for replacement.

    MEMO Make adjustments while checking the output result each time you change the color values.
  5. To close the Special Color List window, click OK.
  6. To close the Job Settings window, click OK.
  7. Click .
