Out-of-ink Warnings

IMPORTANT

Never reuse an ink cartridge for which the machine shows a sign indicating no ink.

Occasionally the machine will show a sign indicating no ink even if there is a small amount of ink remaining in the cartridge. Such an ink cartridge is in a state where drawing ink from it is impossible, so using it in such a state may force air into the ink path and cause malfunctions.

If ink runs out

  • If ink runs out during printing, printing is paused.
  • If ink runs out during cleaning, cleaning is canceled.
MEMO An ink slot LED being lit indicates that the ink slot is in use. An ink slot LED being off indicates that the ink slot is not in use. An ink slot LED flashing indicates that the cartridge in this slot has run out of ink.

Wh ink

Eight ink slot model
For the four cartridges of Wh ink, slot 1 is paired with slot 2, and slot 7 is paired with slot 8. If the cartridge in one slot in a pair runs out of ink, the ink from the cartridge in the other slot is automatically supplied. In this situation, the LED for the slot whose cartridge has run out of ink flashes.
TY_HotSwap

Also, Ink has run out. is displayed on the operation panel. If both the cartridges in the slots of a pair run out of ink, printing pauses and two short warning beeps sound.

Six ink slot model

Because two Wh ink cartridges are used at the same time, the amount of ink in the cartridges of these slots decreases in nearly the same manner.

When one of these cartridges runs out of ink, printing pauses, two short warning beeps sound, and the LED flashes.
TY_NotSwap
