Removing the Job from the Molding Pool

When the binder moisture has dissipated to a certain degree and the job has hardened somewhat, dig the job out from the molding pool.

Although the job is harder than it was immediately after printing, it is not yet completely firm. Before firing, the job is very brittle and breaks easily. Carry this work out very carefully, exercising extreme caution when handling the job.

Tool to prepare Application
scoop

Small scoop

A wide, deep tool with a flat tip (such as an ice scoop) is recommended. Use this tool to move fixture material to a different pool.
brushes

Brush or paintbrush

Use this tool to gently remove powder from around the job.
sieve

Sieve

Use this tool to remove the clumps of fixture material remaining in the pool.
dust_collector

Dust collector

Suctions and collects airborne fixture material. Use this tool to prevent airborne fixture material from scattering and floating. Place the inlet close to areas in which work that may cause fixture material to become airborne is being performed, and then turn on the dust collector.
Procedure
  1. Place the inlet of the dust collector close to the molding pool, and then switch on the dust collector.
    IMPORTANT

The dust collector is used to collect most of the fixture material that erroneously becomes airborne during work, preventing this material from spreading throughout the room.

So that the fixture material in the supply pool is not suctioned by the dust collector, pay attention to the position of the inlet and to the suction power.

  2. Raise the molding pool table 2 mm (0.08 in.).
  3. Lower the supply pool and reuse pool tables 2 mm (0.08 in.).
  4. Use a brush or a similar tool to move the fixture material around the job to the supply pool or reuse pool.
It is recommended to use a paintbrush with soft bristles (or a similar tool) when removing the excess powder that has adhered to the job. Remove the excess powder by using tools that are appropriate for the situation. For example, use a brush that is the correct size and a paintbrush with the correct thickness.
  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 to remove all the fixture material from around the job.
  6. Remove the job from the molding pool.
If you placed a mesh rack on the bottom before printing, remove that rack together with the job.
