Loading Material on the Machine

Procedure
  1. Turn on the power.
  2. Open the cover.

  3. Align the center of the knob with the top of the triangle directly below it ( ), and then tighten the knob.

    The stopper is fixed in place. If you perform imprinting while the stopper is loose, the knob might come off due to vibration.

  4. Attach a head cap to the tip of the head.

    Attach it while lightly holding the head as shown in the following figure. The head cap is attached correctly when its tab clicks.

    IMPORTANT Even when performing imprinting with no head cap used, attach a head cap at this time. This prevents injuries and material damage due to the marking pin striking your hands or the material when you load the material.

  5. Load the material on the center vise, and then tighten the retaining screw.

    Tighten the retaining screw enough to keep the material from easily coming loose. Be careful not to overtighten, because doing so may damage the material.

  6. Load the center vise on the machine.

    Fit the tabs () on the base of the center vise into the holes of the machine. When arranging the material horizontally, align the tabs in the direction indicated by . When arranging the material vertically, align the tabs in the direction indicated by .

    If the material tilts, place a support in order to keep the material horizontal.
