Replacing the Wiper

When it is time to replace the wiper, the message Replace the wiper immediately. appears. In this situation, replace the wiper.

  • To prevent the print heads from drying out, finish this procedure in 10 minutes or less. A warning beep sounds after 10 minutes. Stop work, close all the covers, and then tap Finish All to end the procedure. After that, restart the procedure from the beginning.
  • Take care to prevent ink from adhering to the operation panel.
Procedure
  1. When the message Replace the wiper immediately. appears, tap OK.
  2. Remove the object to be printed on.
  3. Tap Panel_Icon_Notification to display the messages.
  4. Tap Replace the wiper immediately..

    The Wiper Replacement screen appears.
  5. Tap Execute.
    Tap Execute to display a message reminding the user to wear protective gear.
  6. Tap OK.
    Tap OK to move the print-head carriage to a location where wiper replacement is possible.
  7. Follow the instructions on the operation panel to replace the wiper.
    • Tap Panel_Icon_Left_Blue or Panel_Icon_Right_Blue to check the procedure.
    • If you complete the work without viewing the instructions, tap Finish All.
  8. When the wiper replacement is finished, tap Finish All.
  9. When the message Close the cover. appears, close the wiper cover and the right cover.
    When you close the wiper cover and the right cover, you are returned to the original screen.
  10. When the message Has the cloth wiper been replaced? appears, tap Yes.
    The wiping count of the wiper is reset.
    MEMO If you tap Yes on the wiper replacement confirmation screen even though you have not replaced the wiper, the wiping count of the wiper is reset. In this situation, no notification will appear even if the amount of wiper remaining is very small, and the message Wiper Error will appear when the wiper runs out. When the message Wiper Error appears, it is not possible to perform cleaning or to print a new job (this does not apply to printing that is already in progress). To ensure you have enough time to prepare the replacement wiper, tap No if you have not replaced the wiper.
  11. Tap Panel_Icon_Home to return to the home screen.
