Automatically Generating Spot Color Plates in Objects

This section introduces how to specify the range in which, at the time of printing, a spot color plate is generated automatically according to the shape of the object (such as text, shapes, clipart, and images). Objects that generate spot color plates display a dotted line with a color corresponding to the specified spot color.

Procedure
  1. Click an object to select it.

To select multiple objects, hold down the [SHIFT] key as you click the objects or drag the mouse to enclose all the objects.

  2. On the function toolbar, click Auto Plate.
The operation panel is displayed on the right side of the window.
  3. Select the item to generate as the spot color plate of the object.
    • When generating a white plate:

Select the Auto Generate White checkbox.

Select the Apply White To White Transpalent checkbox to apply RDG_WHITE to the white parts of the object.

    • When generating a primer plate:

Select the Auto Generate Primer checkbox.

    • When generating a gloss plate:

Select the Auto Generate Gloss checkbox.

  4. Specify the range in which to generate the spot color plate.
    • Print Area: The plate is generated in the range where the object is present.
    • Outside PrintArea: The plate is generated in the range where the object is not present.
    • Entire Area: The plate is generated in the entirety of the selected range.
Change the value of Trapping to adjust the distance to reduce or expand the spot color plate to generate for the object.
