The protector prevents the print head from being exposed to the air. Attach the print head protector if the printer's installation location temperature could fall below 22°C (71.6°F).
IMPORTANT
Be gentle when opening and closing the front cover and right cover. Opening and closing the covers with force or removing your hand while opening or closing the cover may break the cover or cause injury. When opening or closing the front cover, hold the cover in the center.
Procedure
Open the front cover.
Attach the print head protector () to the print head.
Peel the print head protector off the backing paper to attach.
Attach the protector retaining tape () as shown in the following figure.
Peel the protector retaining tape off the backing paper to attach.
