Using Media That Wrinkles Easily/Does Not Move Smoothly

The platen uses suction to grip the media and keep it stable. The suction force can be adjusted corresponding to the nature and condition of the media.
MEMO This section introduces the way to adjust the media's suction force as a method to realize smooth media feeding. In addition to adjusting the suction force, you can also use Tension Winding (Setting the Take-up Unit) of the take-up unit.
Procedure
  1. Set up the media.
  2. Tap Panel_Icon_Menu.
  3. Tap Media Settings - Other Media Settings - Media Suction Force.
  4. Tap Panel_Icon_Minus or Panel_Icon_Plus to enter the value.
    0 to 100% When the media is flimsy and cannot move smoothly, decreasing this value (reducing the suction force) may correct the problem.
    Auto*1 The suction force is automatically adjusted to the optimal level for the media width
    *1 Default setting
  5. Tap Save to confirm your entry.
  6. Tap Panel_Icon_Home.

    • Depending on the software RIP you are using, you can also make this setting in the software RIP. When you have made the setting in the software RIP, the machine's setting is ignored.
