Obtaining a Stable Output Color (Add-on)

For Obtaining a Stable Output Color, which is used to adjust for variations in output color resulting from changes over time with the same model or from individual differences with different machines of the same model, operations are simplified and the procedure is guided in wizard format.

The differences from the existing color matching function are summarized below.

This section explains the workflow for using two printers of the same model and ink type (XG-No. 1 and XG-No. 2) and setting XG-No. 1 as the reference printer.

Procedure
  1. Prepare the measurement instrument and start the color matching menu.
    1. Set the measurement instrument.
      Set it to make it ready to perform the measurement.
    2. Select either printer and click VW7-ICON_HamburgerMenu (hamburger menu) or VW7_Customize to the right of the printer on the home screen.
  2. Click Printer Color Match (Extended).
  3. Select Configure Color Match Settings, and then click Next >.
Color Matching Group Settings
  1. Enter the group name and configure the following settings.
    • Printer: Click Settings under Printer List (Required) and select the printer.
    • Printing conditions: Click Settings under Printing Conditions (Required) and select the media, quality, and other options.
  2. Click Next >.
Printing and Measuring Charts
  1. Select the printer in Printer Name and print the color chart.
    • Print the color chart on the other printer in the same way.
    • Be sure to print on the same media.
  2. Measure each color chart.
Setting the Reference Data
  1. Click Select Measured Color Matching Data and select the printer to use as the reference.
  2. Click Exit.
    The reference printer is now set to XG-No. 1, and the target printer is set to XG-No. 2.
Printing with XG-No. 2
  1. Add the print data to the job list.
  2. Use one of the methods below to open Settings.
    • Double-click the job.
    • Right-click a job, and then click Edit Design - Settings.
    • With a job selected, click VW7_JobMenu1 on the left side of the job tool area, and then click VW7_Customize Settings.
  3. Click VW7-ICON_ColorSetting Color Management.
  4. Select Printer Color Match (Extended) for Printer Color Match Settings.
  5. Click Preset.
  6. Click the Color Matching with Same Model tab.
  7. Select the applicable color matching group and click OK.
    You are returned to the Settings window.
  8. Perform printing.
