Specifying Color Settings for Each Object
Apply color management individually to the objects (images, illustrations, and text*1) in the print data.
Actual print data may contain a mixture of raster, vector, and text objects as shown below. The color model (RGB or CMYK) may also differ.
The color management for each object is summarized in the table below.
| Object | Description | Matching Method | Color Model | Primary Color Preservation *2 | Supplementary Information |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image | Photos, bitmap images, rasterized text, etc. | All images | RGB | ||
| CMYK | |||||
| Vector | Vector illustrations created in design software and outlined text | All illustrations and text *3 | RGB | ||
| CMYK | |||||
| Text *4 | Text input from design software | RGB | |||
| CMYK | To enable preservation of primary colors only for text: Apply Text Only |
When specifying color settings for each object, the following effects can be expected.
- A combination of illustrations with vivid color contrast and photos with natural color tones
Usage examples: Using Separate Color Management for Images and Text
- Printing 2D codes and text in data clearly
