Outputting from the Client
Print from the client via the RIP server (the computer on which VersaWorks is installed: Windows only).
First, check the following items:
- The printer and the computers (RIP server and client) are connected correctly and are all switched on.
- The printer is set on the RIP server (the printer is registered in VersaWorks).
- The printer is ready to print (media has been set up).
- The client is a Mac OS X (10.5 or later) machine.
1. Prepare the RIP Server
Procedure

Click
for Queue A.
The Queue Properties window appears. -
Click
Job Management and then use Action under Action for Incoming Jobs to set the way to process the jobs added to the RIP server.
- Do Nothing : Neither processing by the RIP nor printing is performed when a job is added to the job list.
- RIP Only: Only processing by the RIP is automatically performed when a job is added to the job list.
- RIP and Print: Both processing by the RIP and printing are automatically performed when a job is added to the job list.

Click OK.
You are returned to the main window.
Configure the client according to the OS.
2. Configure the Client Settings (Windows 11)
Procedure
- Make sure the RIP server is running, and then log on to the client computer.

Open Control Panel.
Search for Control Panel from the taskbar.

Click Devices and Printers.
The Bluetooth & devices window appears.
- Click Printers & scanners.
- Click Add device.
- Click Add a new device manually under The printer that I want isn't listed.
- Select Select a shared printer by name.
- Click Browse…, input the device name of the RIP server, and press the ENTER key.
- Select VersaWorks7_(the nickname of the printer you want to output to), and then click Select.

Click Next.
When a window prompting you to install the driver appears, do so.
- When a window indicating that the target printer has been added appears, click Next.
- Print a test page if necessary, and then click Finish.
2. Configure the Client Settings (Windows 10)
Procedure
- Make sure the RIP server is running, and then log on to the client computer.

Open Control Panel.
Search for Control Panel from the taskbar.
- Click Devices and Printers.
- Click Add Printer.
- Click The printer that I want isn't listed.
- Select Select a shared printer by name.
- Click Browse…, input the device name of the RIP server, and press the ENTER key.
- Select VersaWorks7_(the nickname of the printer you want to output to), and then click Select.

Click Next.
When a window prompting you to install the driver appears, do so.
- When a window indicating that the target printer has been added appears, click Next.
- Perform test printing if necessary, and then click Finish.
2. Configure the Client Settings (Mac)
Procedure
- Access the following website.

Click
to the right of VersaWorks 7 to expand the list.

Copy the PPD file matching the OS to the client computer.

- Click the Apple menu on the menu bar, and then click System Settings....
- Click Printers & Scanners.
- Click Add a Printer, Scanner or Fax....

Click
Windows. A list appears below this item. Select the network group that the computer belongs to from the list.
- Select the name of the RIP server's computer from the list.
- When the window for trying connection appears, click Connect.
- If you are prompted for a username and password, enter the username and password for the RIP server, and then click Connect.
- Select VersaWorks7_(the nickname of the printer you want to output to) from the list.
- From the Use list, select Other....
- Select the PPD file that you copied in Step 3, and then click Open.

Click Add.
The selected printer is added to Printers.
3. Output the Job
Select VersaWorks7_(the nickname of the printer you want to output to) as the printer. Operations vary depending on the design software.
