Performing Variable Printing
This section explains how to perform variable printing in which portions of the image are replaced with unique data such as names and photographs for each copy that is printed. Applications include the printing of employee ID cards where the name, department, and photograph differ; tickets with consecutive numbers, and postcard addressee information.
In order to perform variable printing, you will need the following files:
- A template design file containing variable fields to hold unique text or images.
- A database file that defines the information (text or images) to be printed.
- Image files if you want to print images.
