Step 1: Saving the Reference Printer Data

Define the reference colors, print a color chart, and then use a measurement instrument to save the reference colors as the Reference Printer Data.

Procedure
  1. Connect the measurement instrument to the computer, and then set up the measurement instrument.
  2. Click Edit - Printer Color Match Settings.

    The Printer Color Match Settings window appears.

  3. Click the Print Chart tab.
  4. Select Reference Printer Data for Printer Data Type.
  5. Click Printing Condition Settings.
    Configure settings as necessary.
  6. Click OK.
    The Printing Condition Settings window closes.
  7. Click Print.

    The print window for the printer's color matching chart opens. Specify where to add the job (enter A to E).

  8. Click OK.
    When the message "Job has been sent successfully. appears," click OK.
  9. Click Print.
    The color chart is printed.
  10. Click the Measure Chart tab.
  11. Click Calibrate.

    The calibration of the measurement instrument starts.

  12. Click Measure.

    Use a measurement instrument to measure the color chart.

  13. When the measurement is finished, click Register.

    The Register Reference Printer Data window appears.

  14. Enter the desired name in Register Reference Printer Data.

    The Register Reference Printer Data window closes.

    If you want to record the Media Name for Chart Printing, enter it.

  15. Click OK.
  16. Click OK in the Printer Color Match Settings window.

    The Printer Color Match Settings window closes.

    This completes the procedure for saving the reference color data as the Reference Printer Data. Saved Reference Printer Data is listed on the Reference Printer Data tab in the Printer Color Match Settings window.
