Role of the Administrator (Admin)
When using PrintAutomate (PAM), it is necessary to register at least one account with administrator privileges. The PAM administrator performs the following work.
- Manage the PAM account (registration, settings/changing access rights and locations, deletion).
- Design the work flow.
- Configure the app in accordance with the designed work flow.
- Create jigs.
- Create print layouts.
- Set the receiving of order data and the loading of order information.
- Configure the print data output channels and output settings.
- Configure automated processing.
- In cooperation with operators, check that the set work flow operates correctly.
- Formulate and implement improvements when there is a mistake in the settings or trouble occurs.
- Assign responsibility for received orders during operation (assign tasks).
Differences between the PAM license buyer (key account) and PAM administrator (account with Admin privileges)
A PAM license is purchased using a Roland DG Connect account. (A Roland DG Connect Premium Plan contract is required to use PAM.)
When concluding this contract, you can log in to PAM using a Roland DG Connect account. In this case, you will log in to PAM via Roland DG Connect. When introducing PAM for the first time, if no PAM accounts have yet been registered, use your Roland DG Connect account to log in to PAM and set the first user accounts (one account each with administrator and Operator privileges). The Roland DG Connected account used when buying a license is not included in the PAM user account. However it is differentiated from other PAM accounts and is handled as a special presence (owner). Hereafter, this account is referred to as the key account. The access rights are the same as Admin.
Although it is possible to log in to the key account and use it as a PAM administrator account, doing so is not recommended. When the owner of a key account operates as a PAM administrator, create a PAM administrator account that is separate from the key account, and use that account. However, do not register the same account name as the key account.
