Simple Media Reflective Intensity Selection

Unlike with the Advanced setting, the reflective intensity of the media can be selected directly.

This option can be used to reduce setup time if the print data and object details are known in advance.
Procedure
  1. Set up the object to be printed on.

Refer to steps 1 through 6 of Determining the Print Surface Height and Printing Position to configure the settings before Media Reflective Intensity.

  2. Select the reflective intensity of the object to be printed on with Media Reflective Intensity, and then tap Save.

Select the appropriate item according to the transparency and thickness (t) of the object to be printed on, the width of the printing data (length in the direction of print-head carriage (w) movement), and the difference in height between the "bottom surface near the print data" and the "print surface." The "difference in height between the bottom surface near the print data and the print surface" is the difference in height between the lowest point (including the table top) and the height of the print surface within 40 mm (1.57 in.) of the print data.

The figure below shows the "difference in height between the bottom surface near the print data and the print surface." The lowest point in the area enclosed by the dotted line () is the table surface (), so the variation in height in this case is the height between the red arrows (g).

The selection criteria for reflective intensity are as follows.

    MEMO
Determine whether the objects are transparent or opaque according to the following standard.
    • Transparent: A hand placed on the other side of the object to be printed on can be seen through it.
    • Opaque: A hand placed on the other side of the object to be printed on cannot be seen through it.
  3. Complete object setup.

Refer to steps 8 through 18 of Determining the Print Surface Height and Printing Position to complete object setup.
