Attaching the Vacuum Table

WARNING

Only insert and remove the vacuum table connector when the main power is off or when executing Vacuum Table or Rotation Shaft Unit Attachment/Removal from the printer's operation panel.

Failure to do so may damage the device or result in electrical shock.

Procedure
  1. Tap AP-640_Panel_Icon_MENU on the operation panel's home screen.
  2. Tap Preferences - Vacuum Table or Rotary Axis Unit Attachment/Removal.
  3. Tap Move Table to Attachment/Removal Position - Execute.
    The flat table moves to a position where the vacuum table can be inserted/removed.
  4. After the flat table stops, open the front cover.
    IMPORTANT

    Be sure to hold the handle of the front cover and keep holding it until the cover is completely opened or closed.

    If you do not open and close the front cover gently, it may break or you may be injured.

  5. When Remove devices as necessary. is displayed on the operation panel, tap VG3_Panel_Icon_RIGHT_blue.
    Since the vacuum table and the rotary axis unit cannot be attached at the same time, if a device other than the one you want to install is attached, remove it before tapping VG3_Panel_Icon_RIGHT_blue.
  6. Clean the surface of the flat table with a rag.
  7. Remove the cover from the flat table VACUUM/ROTARY connector.
    IMPORTANT

    Store the cover carefully so that you do not lose it.

    If you are not using the VACUUM/ROTARY connector, be sure to attach the cover to prevent dust and debris from adhering to the connector.

  8. Attach the vacuum table to the flat table.
    1. Temporarily tighten the vacuum table mounting screws in the flat table.
      Temporarily tighten the two mounting screws on the back side of the vacuum table in screw holes and that are marked with square lines.

    2. Insert the temporarily tightened mounting screws on the flat table into the grooves at the back of the vacuum table on its left and right sides.
      To avoid scratching or damaging the flat table, carefully slide the vacuum table backward onto the screws.

    3. Temporarily tighten the mounting screws on the front of the vacuum table.
      Temporarily tighten the mounting screws while adjusting the vacuum table position.
    4. Fully tighten the four vacuum table mounting screws.

  9. Place the vacuum table cable in the indentation in the flat table (), and then connect the vacuum table connector to the flat table VACUUM/ROTARY connector.

    Align the protrusion () on the vacuum table connector with the indentation () on the VACUUM/ROTARY connector, and then insert the former into the latter.

    Insert the vacuum table connector until you hear a click.

  10. Close the front cover.

  11. Tap Finish All on the operation panel.
  12. Tap AP-640_Panel_Icon_HOME to go back to the original screen.
