Setting the Take-up Unit

Procedure
  1. Tap Panel_Icon_Menu.
  2. Tap Preferences - Take-up.
  3. Tap Take-up during Cutting to select one of the following options.
    • Enabled

      The media is taken up during cutting while slack is being created. This prevents the media from touching the floor, but the cutting time becomes longer.

      Set up the media with it wrapped at least halfway around the paper tube of the take-up unit.

    • Disabled

      The media is taken up after all cutting finishes. Although the cutting time is shorter than with Enabled, the media will touch the floor with longer cutting data.

      When performing cutting immediately after attaching the media to the paper tube, first feed enough media to carry out take-up a few times and set the base point.

  4. Tap Save.
  5. Tap Take-up Method to select one of the following options.
    • Loose Winding

      The media is taken up with some slack. This is suited to PVC and other such stiff or slippery media.

    • Tension Winding

      The media is stretched and taken up. This is suited to tarpaulin and other such weak media and media that does not slip easily.

      MEMO Even if Tension Winding is set, if Enabled is enabled, the media is taken up while slack is being created.
  6. Tap Save.
  7. Tap Take-up Direction to select one of the following options.
    • Forward

      The media is taken up onto the paper tube with the printed surface on the outside.

    • Backward

      The media is taken up onto the paper tube with the printed surface on the inside.

  8. Tap Save.
  9. Tap Panel_Icon_Home.
    You are returned to the home screen.
