Adjusting the Print Head Height

When printing on objects that easily come loose due to poor suction, or if the print surface is slightly uneven, resulting in a height difference between the detected and actual print surface height, adjust the height of the print heads so that they do not come into contact with the object to be printed on. Normally move the height-adjustment lever to Low.

You can select the print head height from Low, Medium, and High. Printing quality when the print head height is set to Medium or High may be coarser or otherwise lower than when set to Low.

Procedure
  1. Set up the object to be printed on.
  2. Tap AP-640_Panel_Icon_MENU.
  3. Tap Media Settings - Printing Settings - Print Head Height.
  4. Tap Change.
The print head carriage moves to a position where the height-adjustment lever can be operated.
  5. Open the front cover.
  6. Move the height-adjustment lever to adjust the print head height.
When you change the position of the height-adjustment lever, the display screen will change.

Low Normally set the height-adjustment lever to Low.
Medium If the object comes loose from the table during printing, set the height to Medium.
High If the object comes loose from the table during printing even though the height is set to Medium, set the height to High.
IMPORTANT The printing quality degrades as the distance between the object to be printed on and the print heads increases. Do not move the height-adjustment lever to Medium or High needlessly.
  7. Close the front cover.
  8. Tap OK.
The print head carriage moves to their original position.
  9. Tap AP-640_Panel_Icon_HOME to return to the home screen.
