Setting the Base Point

Set the base point to determine the printing area on the set up object.

The base point () indicates the bottom-right corner of the printing area () (: feed (forward-back) direction, : scan (left-right) direction). The base point will be cleared after printing.

MEMO

Note that the left and right positions are not restored to their defaults for test patterns.

MEMO

The print start point toward the front or back of the table (feed direction) will always be the current position of the printer unit.

Even if the printer unit is moved using the touch panel, or if it is in the stop position after printing has been completed, the current position will always be the print start point.

Procedure
  1. Set up the object to be printed on.
  2. Tap VG3_Panel_Icon_MOVE-POSITION Move.
    The movement screen appears.
  3. Select AP-640_Panel_Icon_UP, AP-640_Panel_Icon_DOWN, AP-640_Panel_Icon_LEFT, or AP-640_Panel_Icon_RIGHT.
The sub carriage will move onto the table, and the pointer will point to the previously set print origin.
    MEMO

AP-640_Panel_Icon_RIGHT cannot be tapped when the print origin is set to the right edge of the printing area.

  4. Tap AP-640_Panel_Icon_UP, AP-640_Panel_Icon_DOWN, AP-640_Panel_Icon_LEFT, or AP-640_Panel_Icon_RIGHT to move the pointer to the position (origin) so that it points to the right front of the printing area.
    MEMO

When the pointer is difficult to see

Depending on the material of the object to be printed on, such as transparent media or high-gloss media with dark colors used on the print surface, the pointer may be difficult to see. In such cases, the pointer may become more visible by placing masking tape on the print surface or on the back.
