Setting of Dry Time

This section explains the method of setting the time that the printer needs to wait before it starts printing or cutting the next page.

Especially, in the case of printing and cutting, ink needs to be sufficiently dried before cutting is started.

When you make output via the BN-20 driver using a general drawing application

Make the following setting in the BN-20 driver first, and then make output from the application.
Procedure
  1. Open View devices and printers.
    • Windows 10

From the start menu, click Windows System - Control Panel - View devices and printers.

    • Windows 8.1
      1. Click Desk top.
      2. Move the mouse to the lower right corner to display Charm and click Settings.
      3. Click Control Panel - View devices and printers.
  2. Right-click the Roland BN-20 icon, and then click Printing preferences.
The BN-20 driver’s Printing preferences screen opens.

  3. Set the drying time.
    1. Select Dry Time in Printer Adjustment.
The appropriate setting time varies according to the media. Set longer time when you use a medium on which it takes time to dry ink.
    2. Click OK.
When the printer starts drying, the remaining dry time is displayed on the utility.

When you make output from VersaWorks

You can set the dry time in VersaWorks as well. For information on its setting method, refer to VersaWorks Help.

IMPORTANT: When you set the dry time in VersaWorks, if Use Printer Settings is set, 0 is set to the dry time. You should note that the setting in the BN-20 driver is not reflected.
