Installation is impossible
If installation quits partway through, or if the wizard does not appear when you make the connection with a USB cable, take action as follows.
Windows 11
Procedure
- Connect the machine and the computer with the USB cable, and switch on the machine.
- If the Found New Hardware message appears, click Cancel to close it.

Right-click the Start menu, and then click
Device Manager.
When the User Account Control window appears, click Continue. The Device Manager window appears.
- From the View menu, click Show hidden devices.

Search the list for
Printers or
Other devices, and then double-click it.
The name of your machine or Unknown device appears below the selected item. Click the name to select it.
- From the Action menu, click Uninstall Device.
- In the Confirm Device Uninstall window, click OK.
- Close the Device Manager.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the computer, and restart Windows.
- Uninstall the driver according to the procedure below.
- Refer to "Preparation Before Use" to redo the installation from the beginning.
Windows 10
Procedure
- Connect the machine and the computer with the USB cable, and switch on the machine.
- If the Found New Hardware message appears, click Cancel to close it.

When the User Account Control window appears, click Continue. The Device Manager window appears.
- From the View menu, click Show hidden devices.

- From the Action menu, click Uninstall Device.
