Replacing the Wipers

The wipers are components that you use when cleaning the print heads.

When it is time to replace the wiper, the message The time for wiper replacement has arrived. appears. In this situation, replace the wiper.

MEMO If the inside of the printer is dirty, refer to Cleaning the Machine and perform cleaning.
Procedure
  1. When the message The time for wiper replacement has arrived. appears, tap OK.
  2. Remove any media.
  3. Tap VG3_Panel_Icon_NOTE_1note to display the messages.
  4. Tap The time for wiper replacement has arrived..

    The Wiper Replacement screen appears.
  5. Tap Execute for either the target optimizer ink section or the color ink section.
  6. Tap OK.
  7. When Open the right cover. appears, open the right cover.

  8. Touch the location shown in the figure to discharge any static electricity.

  9. Pinch the parts indicated by A, and then pull the old wiper up to remove it.

  10. Attach the new wiper by inserting it from above.

  11. When the replacement of the wiper is complete, tap Finish All.
  12. When Close the cover. appears, close the right cover.

    When you close the right cover, you are returned to the original screen.
  13. Tap AP-640_Panel_Icon_HOME to go back to the original screen.
