Checking the Printer Status

Procedure
  1. Check the network connection of the printer and computer, and switch them both on.
  2. Set up the media in the printer.
    The setup method varies depending on the printer. Carry out setup according to the procedure in the printer's user's manual.
  3. Start VersaWorks.
  4. Check the printer and its status.
    Check that your printer is registered and that the status is VW7-ICON_status1Ready to Print.

    MEMO In addition to the above icons, VW7-ICON_rotary mode appears when the printer is in rotary mode, and VW7-ICON_Nozzle Mask appears when a nozzle mask has been set.

    The following procedure explains how to view detailed printer information.

    1. Select the image of the printer to check.
      Its background changes to blue.
    2. Click Home.
      The printer information list window appears.
      You can check the following information: Depending on the model you are using, some items may not be displayed.
      • Printer nickname
      • Device status
      • Model name
      • Ink type name
      • IP address
      • Firmware version
      • Serial number
      • Amount of ink remaining
      • Media name
      • Media width (width of the printing area on the media currently loaded on the printer)
      • Media length (length of the printing area on the media currently loaded on the printer)
      • Table height
    3. To return to the main screen, click VW7-ICON_return(home)Job.
