Fine-tuning the Output Color of a Spot Color

This section explains how to fine-tune the output color of a spot color.
Procedure
  1. In the job list, double-click the job.
    The Job Settings window appears.
  2. Click .
  3. Click Details under Spot Color Settings.
    The Spot Color List window appears.

    You can check the following information:

    Spot Color NameSpot color name used in the job
    Library NameName of the library that the spot color is registered in
    Library Output

    Color values defined in the library

    (If the spot color is one defined in the Lab color space, a caution mark () is displayed when this color cannot be reproduced (it is out of the gamut) with the selected media and quality.)

    Delta EColor difference values from the reproducible range of colors (only when the library output color is out of the gamut)
    Printer Output

    Process color values to which the spot color has been converted

    (If the spot color is one defined in the Lab color space, the values converted with the method displayed in the Matching Method field on the right are displayed.)

    Matching MethodMatching Method under File Format (only when the spot color is one defined in the Lab color space)
    OutputColor value displayed in Edit Output Color
  4. Perform one or both of the following operations to fine-tune the output color:
    • To change the matching method
      • Right-click the Matching Method field of the color to be edited, and then select the matching method. However, this setting is only available when the spot color is one defined in the Lab color space. This cannot be set for other colors.
    • To edit the printer output color
      • Adjust the color values in Output. Output can be used to directly specify the color values of the process color after the conversion. In addition to changing the matching method, change Output if you want to make further adjustments.
    IMPORTANT Make adjustments while checking the output result each time you change the color values.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Select a job from the job list, and then click .
    Processing by the RIP and printing start.
