Saving and Reusing Printed Jobs

You can export the information and RIP processed data in the printing settings of a printed job and manage it as a file in a separate folder.

The three types of files that can be saved are the following.
  • VW Job File

This file contains only the printing settings such as the job's source data information, the media width, the number of copies to print, and the profile. These printing settings can be applied to different print data. This file takes up the least space.

When saving as a VW Job File, be sure to also save the source data. If the source data is not present, it will not be possible to load the VW Job File.

  • VW Job + Source File

This file contains the VW job file, in which the printing setting information is saved, and the source data. Saving this file makes it possible to print the same data with the same printing settings again.

If printing was performed from the design software, it is necessary to save in VW Job + Source File format.

  • PRT File

This file contains RIP processed data. Although this file takes up the most space, it reduces the processing performed by the computer and shortens the work time when printing the data again.

It is also possible to manage using a VersaWorks job list rather than managing as a file. The characteristics of each are as shown below.
Item Managing as a job list Managing as a file
Management Print data (source data) is managed in a separate folder, however the printing settings and other information are managed using a job list. The print data (source data), printing settings, RIP data, and other information is managed together in a folder.
Reprinting Reprinting is easy because there is a job that was processed by the RIP. Import into VersaWorks again in order to reprint.
New print data Scroll the job list and access the new print data that is added at the bottom. Access to new print data is easy because the job list can be made empty.
