Adjusting Print Head Height to Match Media Thickness

This section explains how to adjust the print head height to match the media thickness.

The height of the print head is set with Quality - Media Type. Changing this height may affect the printing quality. Normally do not change this setting.

However when printing on thick media and when swelling occurred due to drying after printing, the distance between the print heads and the print surface will be smaller than the intended value. Depending on the circumstances, the print head may contact the media. In order to avoid this, change the height of the print head. If the print head height on the printer and the setting are different, a message may be displayed on the printer. In this situation, make the settings the same.

Depending on the model you are using, this setting may be disabled.
