3. Fill the machine with ink.

Procedure
  1. Before inserting ink cartridges, shake each of them 50 times (about 20 seconds).
    The precipitation of the ingredients in the ink disables printing in normal color. To allow the ingredients to be mixed well, shake each ink cartridge horizontally from side to side by 5 cm (2 inches) from each end of the ink cartridge.
    IMPORTANT

    When shaking the ink cartridge, firmly hold it with both hands to prevent the ink cartridge cover from coming loose. The cover and ink pouch coming loose and falling may lead to damage or printer failure.

  2. Set the ink cartridge in the ink slot.

    Orient the cartridge so its protrusion () is face up, and then insert the cartridge as far as it will go, ensuring that the cartridge remains level.

    IMPORTANT

    Do not insert cleaning cartridges into the ink slots. Ink labels indicating colors are affixed to the machine. Insert each ink cartridge into the slot whose label matches the color of the ink in the cartridge. Inserting an incorrect cartridge may lead to breakdowns. Be careful not to insert the wrong cartridges. If you insert an incorrect cartridge by mistake, contact your authorized Roland DG Corporation dealer.
