Performing a Nozzle Drop-out Test

Before you carry out actual printing, perform a printing test to ensure no dot drop-out or dot displacement occurs. If dot drop-out or dot displacement occurs, perform cleaning of the print heads (normal cleaning).
MEMO When performing printing tests successively, the second and subsequent printing positions are printed vertically in relation to the first printing position.
Procedure
  1. Set up the media.
  2. Tap Panel_Icon_TestPrint Nozzle Drop-out Test on the home screen.
  3. Tap Execute next to Printing Test.
Printing of the test pattern starts.
  4. Check whether there is dot drop-out or dot displacement in the test pattern.
You can check the discharge status of the CMYK ink with Print light and the discharge status of the structural ink with Black Light. Check these statuses while switching the light as necessary. Use the operation panel's home screen to switch the light.

    The home screen appears.
