Cleaning the Machine on a Daily Basis

As part of daily cleaning, wipe away any buildup of ink or grime that has adhered to the machine. In particular, the flat table is likely to have a buildup of grime. Clean by wiping with a cloth moistened by neutral detergent diluted with water then wrung dry.
WARNING

Never use a solvent such as gasoline, alcohol, or thinner to perform cleaning.

Doing so may cause fire.

IMPORTANT:
  • This machine is a precision device and is sensitive to dust and dirt. Perform cleaning on a daily basis.

  • Never attempt to oil or lubricate the machine.

  • Before performing this operation, remove any objects to be printed on.

  • To prevent the print heads from drying out, try to finish this procedure in 10 minutes or less. A warning beep sounds after 10 minutes.

  • If the warning beep is heard, stop work, close all the covers, and then press ENTER to end the manual cleaning mode. After that, restart from the beginning.

  1. Remove the object to be printed on.
  2. Move the print-head carriage.
    1. Press MENU.
    2. Press to display the screen shown below.


    3. Press once, and then press several times to display the screen shown below.


    4. Press to display the screen shown below.


    5. Press MENU.
      After "NOW PROCESSING.." is displayed and the print heads move, the screen shown below appears.


      MEMO:
      Refresh the heads if the following message is displayed.


    6. Open the front cover.
      The screen shown below appears.


      IMPORTANT:

      Do not press ENTER at this stage. Press ENTER after cleaning is complete. If you press the ENTER key at this stage, wait for the screen to change as shown in the following figure, and then press the ENTER key again.

    7. Touch the location shown in the figure (the area below the ink cartridge slots) to discharge any static electricity.


  3. Clean the locations shown in the following figure.




    UV-LED device, carriage fan, and the surface of the print head carriage Frequently clean the inside of the machine using a vacuum cleaner or by wiping with a cloth moistened with water then wrung dry. If dust and dirt accumulate in the machine, they are likely to affix to printed materials.

  4. When you have finished cleaning, close the front cover.
  5. Press ENTER.
